- Caltrans covers state-highway approaches outside the park.

Tips worth knowing first
- An open western entrance does not mean Tioga Road is open across the Sierra.
- NPS warns that GPS directions can be wrong; official signs and driving directions take precedence.
- An open trail can still contain snow, ice, rockfall, water or fire hazards.
- Text ynptraffic to 333111 when NPS activates traffic updates during extremely busy periods.

Is an entrance reservation required in 2026?

No. Webcams provide visual context but cannot replace official road and chain-control information.
