Check or Report a Georgia Power Outage

Georgia Power’s public map provides near-real-time outage information and restoration estimates. Use the separate status and reporting tools for a specific service location.

Important

Never approach a damaged or downed line. Georgia Power directs people to call 911 or 1-888-891-0938 and keep everyone away.

Five checks in the right order

  1. Open the public map and confirm its Last Updated time.
  2. Search the relevant area and inspect the outage details.
  3. Use Check Outage Status for the service location.
  4. Report an unlisted outage online, by text, app or telephone.
  5. Use the Storm Center for downed-line, generator and restoration safety.

Map context and account status serve different needs

  • The public map is updated approximately every ten minutes.
  • Georgia Power offers report, map and address-status tools separately.
  • Text OUT to 42797 is an official outage-reporting method.
  • A damaged customer service entrance may require an electrician before reconnection.
  • One Minute Updates does not collect addresses or Georgia Power account information.
