POWER OUTAGES · NEW YORK CITY AND WESTCHESTER SERVICE AREA

Check or Report a Con Edison Power Outage

Use Con Edison’s public map for area context, then report or check the service address for specific restoration information and automatic updates.

Important

Reported outages can take up to 30 minutes to appear, and the map normally updates every 15 to 30 minutes. Treat every fallen wire as live and call Con Edison immediately.

Five checks in the right order

  1. Check the map’s Last Updated time and search the area.
  2. Report the service address if power is out.
  3. Use Check Outage Status for the address-specific estimate.
  4. Register for text updates when useful.
  5. Call immediately for downed wires or damaged equipment.

The public map may lag a newly reported address

  • Area shapes and nearby markers do not replace an address-specific status check.
  • Restoration estimates can change with damage assessment and crew progress.
  • Text REG to 688243 to enroll; registered users can text OUT or STATUS.
  • Gas emergencies require leaving the area and calling 911 or Con Edison.
  • One Minute Updates never collects account, address or phone information.
