ATL’s page separates Domestic Main, North, Lower North, South PreCheck and International. A short time at the wrong checkpoint does not help your trip.
BEFORE YOU GO
Five checks in the right order
- Confirm whether check-in starts at the Domestic or International Terminal.
- Select the correct tab on ATL’s TSA wait page.
- Confirm your individual flight with the operating airline and ATL tracker.
- Check FAA NAS Status for ATL-wide ground stops or delay programs.
- If driving, check current lot status separately before choosing a terminal route.
ATL-SPECIFIC GUIDANCE
Do not confuse terminal sides and concourses
- Domestic North and South are check-in sides of the Domestic Terminal; airline assignment matters.
- The International Terminal has its own roadway access and security entry.
- After security, the Plane Train connects all concourses and operates continuously.
- South is a PreCheck-only checkpoint on the current official wait display.
- Airport-wide FAA status does not include every airline-specific gate, crew or maintenance delay.

Avoid common traps
Can I enter at any checkpoint?
Do not choose solely by the shortest number. Confirm lane eligibility, terminal side and airline first.
Does FAA status confirm my flight?
No. Use your operating airline for the individual flight.
Does the Plane Train connect the terminals before security?
No. The Plane Train is inside the secure area; landside terminal transfers use different transportation.
